Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at Eckerd College has full slate of fall classes, activities

The Osher Lifelong Learning Institute — OLLI — at Eckerd College is offering more than 200 noncredit classes and activities this fall. Most courses will be offered at Eckerd, 4200 54th Ave. S, St. Petersburg, and the Centre of Palm Harbor, 1500 16th St.

"Will Rogers: America's Favorite Son," "Discovering the Splendors of Provence, France" and "The Turbulent Sixties" are among the classes. The day trips include "Boat Tour of Boca Ciega Bay," "Behind the Scenes at American Stage" and "Exploring Ybor City."

OLLI also will present five British National Theatre productions, recorded in high-definition video, at the Dan and Mary Miller Auditorium at Eckerd.

Special classes will mark the 50th anniversary of the Florida Orchestra and the Museum of Fine Arts, St. Petersburg. OLLI members can also attend live productions of The Little Prince at Freefall Theatre and improvisational comedy at the Spitfire Theater.

Most classes and activity fees range from $10 to $45 for OLLI members. The $49 annual OLLI membership provides class discounts and other benefits.
