Rays, Red Sox, Bruins and Panthers team to raise hurricane funds
Rays players will be part of a two-sport, four-team effort on Sunday to raise funds for Red Cross relief efforts related to Hurricane Irma.
Donations will be collected at all Fenway Park gates before and during Sunday's game. Players from the Rays and Red Sox will take part, as well as from the NHL Boston Bruins and Florida Panthers, who relocated training sessions from Fort Lauderdale to the Boston-area, where they have a minor-league affiliate, in advance of the storm.
The Sox said the donations will support Red Cross relief efforts, noting that the Red Sox also have a major presence in Florida with their spring training facility in Fort Myers.
